Instructions for setting up and using Spam Filtering in Web Mail

1. If you are a first time user of the kosinet webmail, please click here for instructions for the first time users, setting up your web mail.

2. After logging in to the webmail, click on the options at the top.

3. When the new window appears, click on the Spam Filter Configuration

4. The top of this page allows you to add specific address to the filter. You can copy/paste the address here to filter specific email addresses from your mail box. (You may want to do this at a later date. The spam filter works quite well, so please allow it to function for at least a couple of days before making these modifications.)

5. Scroll down the the bottom portion of this page. Default settings in the spam filter is "don't filter". We recommend the setting "8" which is the recommended setting.

6. After changing the setting, click on "Update Settings" at the bottom.  Your screen will refresh and take you back to the top again.

7. Click on the "INBOX" in the left hand column and it will take you back to your inbox.

8. After you are done and have logged out, the Squirrel gets busy scanning your new incoming mail. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE WEBMAIL FOR THE SPAM FILTER TO WORK!, however, you will want to log in periodically (about once / twice a month) and check the spam folder, review the contents, and if there is no mail that you wish to keep, empty the folder. Since it is part of your inbox, if it becomes to full, your box will overload and eventually start blocking new incoming mail.

If you have any questions on the instructions above, please call our office, of feel free to send us an email.
